Tretum

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

TRETUM(Τρήτον ἄκρον, Ptol. iv 3.3), a promontory of Numidia at the W. point of the Sinus Oleachites. (Strab. 17. p. 829, 832.) It probably derived its name from the numerous caves in the cliffs, which are still the lurking places of the piratical tribes of this coast. Now Sebba Rus.
