TZURU´LUM(Τζουρουλόν, Procop. B. Goth. 3.38; Anna Comn. 7. p. 215, 10. p. 279; Theophyl. 6.5; in Geog. Rav. 4.6, and Tab. Peut., Suralluhm and Syrallum; in It. Ant. pp. 138, 230, Izirallum, but in p. 323, Tirallum; and in It. Hier. p. 569, Tunorullum), a strong town on a hill in the SE. of Thrace, not far from Perinthus, on the road from that city to Hadrianopolis. It has retained its name with little change to the present day, being the modern Tchorluor Tchurlu.
