VANDABANDA(Οὐανδαβάνδα, Ptol. 6.12.4), a district of Sogdiana, between the Mons Caucasus ( Hindú—Kúsh) and the Imaus ( Himáleh). It is probably nearly the same as the present Badakhshán(Wilson, Ariana, p. 164).[V]
