VANESIA a place in Gallia Aquitanica, fixed by the Jerusalem Itin. between Elusa ( Eause) and Auscius, the capital of the Ausci, xii. from Elusa and viii. from Auscius. The place is supposed by D'Anville to be the passage of the Baise, a branch of the Garonnewhich comes from the Pyrenees.
