VEPITENUM or VIPITENUM, a place in the district occupied by the Venostes in Rhaetia, between Veldidena and Tridenturn. ( It. Ant. pp. 275, 280; Tab. Peut. ) Its modern representative is, in all probability, the town of Sterzingon the Eisach, at the foot of the Brenner.
