VERTINAE(Οὐερτῖναι: Verzino), a small town of Bruttium, mentioned only by Strabo (6. p. 254), who places it in the interior of that country. Its name is still retained by the village of Verzino, about 7 miles NW. of Strongoli, the ancient Petelia.
