VI´NTIUM(Οὐίντιον: Vence), in Gallia Narbonensis, the chief town of the Nerusii. [NERUSII.] Inscriptions have been found at Vencewith the words CIVIT. VINT.;and in the Notitia of the Gallic Provinces it is placed in the Alpes Maritimae under the name of Civitas Vintiensium or Venciensium. Venceis in the department of Var, near the river Var.
