VIPITENUM a town in Rhaetia belonging to the Venostes, situated between Veldidena and Tridentum. ( Itin. Ant. pp. 275, 280.) Some place it in the Ober-Wipthal;others identify it with Sterzingon the Eisach, at the foot of the Brenner. [T.H.D]
