Zygantis

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

ZYGANTIS(Ζυγαντίς, Hecat. Fr. ap. Steph. B. p. 290), a town of Libya, whose inhabitants were noted for their preparation of honey. Hence Klausen ( ad Hecat. p. 134) identifies them with the Gyzantes of Herodotus (Hdt. 4.194), on the W. side of the lake Tritonis, of whom that historian relates the same thing.
