Cannensian, of Cannae (in Apulia, where Hannibal routed the Romans): pugna, L.: acies, L.: clades, L.—Hence, fig.: te pugna Cannensis accusatorem sat bonum fecit, i. e. the proscription of Sulla (in which many eminent advocates had perished).—Of a revel: Cannensis pugna nequitiae.
