II. Chatterer ·noun A bird of the family Ampelidae — so called from its monotonous note. The Bohemion chatterer (Ampelis garrulus) inhabits the arctic regions of both continents. In America the cedar bird is a more common species. ·see Bohemian chatterer, and Cedar bird.
