Former names : "Fitz's Court" (O. and M. 1677). "Fitz Court" (Hatton, 1708). "Fitches Court" (Strype, 1720 and 1755). "Fitch's Court" (Rocque, 1746). "Fillibet Court" (Horwood, 1799).

The Lord Mayor Titchborn lived in an old timber house in the Court, which escaped the Fire, the other houses about being burnt (Strype, ed. 1720, I. iii. 121).
