APHRODI´SIUM


1. (Ἀφροδίσιον,Strab. p. 682; Ptol. 5.14; Ἀφροδισιάς, Steph. B. s. v.: Eth. Ἀφροδισιεύς), a city of Cyprus, situated at the narrowest part of the island, only 70 stadia from Salamis. (D'Anville, in Mém. de Litt. vol. 32. p. 541.) [E.B.J]
