AXON a river of Caria, mentioned by Pliny (Plin. Nat. 5.28), with Calynda: flumen Axon, oppidum Calynda.We may, perhaps, infer that Calynda was on or near the Axon. Leake places the Axon immediately west of the gulf of Glaucus.
