BRIGIA´NI an Alpine people, whose name occurs in the trophy of the Alps which is preserved in Pliny (Plin. Nat. 3.100.20). A certain order is observed in the names; and as the Brigiani are mentioned with the Caturiges, the Brigiani may represent the people of Brigantium.
