CEDREI an Arab tribe, mentioned by Pliny (Plin. Nat. 5.11), who places them on the confines of Arabia Petraea, to the south, which would correspond with the northern part of the modern district of the Hedjaz. Mr. Forster identifies them with the Canraitae or Cadraitae of Arrian, the Cerdanitae or Cedranitae of Stephanus, and the Darrae of Ptolemy, and traces their origin to Cedar, the Ishmaelite Patriarch ( Gen. 25.13), represented by the modern Harb nation, and the modern town of Kedeyre.
