CYNETICUM LITTUS in Gallia Narbonensis. Festus Avienus (5.565—570) places the sands of the Cynetic shoreafter the Pyrenaeum jugum,which is about Collioure. The Cyneticum littus is the coast of Gallia Narbonensis from the mouth of the Techto the. mouth of the Tet, near which is a small place called Canet.This is shown clearly by the line of Avienus, which speaks of the Roschinus river cutting through the sands of this coast. This Roschinus is the Ruscino of Strabo (p. 182) and Ptolemy (Ptol. 2.10), and the Telis of Mela (2.5), in the ordinary texts; but Telis should probably be Tetis.
