DABANAS(Δαβανάς), one of Justinian's fortresses, situated between Dara and Amida (Procop. de Aed. 2.4), which some of the maps confound with DARANA(Ammian. 23.3.7), which lies much further S. at the sources of the river BELIAST he site has not been identified.
