ENEGLAIM(Ἐναγαλλείμ,, LXX.; Ἀγαλλείμ, Euseb.), a city of Moab, mentioned only in Ezekiel (47.10); placed by Eusebius 8 miles south of Areopolis or Ar of Moab ( Onomast. s. v. ), but doubtless identical with the Eglaim of Isaiah, in the burden of Moab (15.8). St. Jerome ( Comment. in Ezek. l. c. ) says that it was at the northern extremity of the Dead Sea, at the mouth of the Jordan, as indeed the passage in Ezekiel implies that it was on the coast of the Dead Sea.
