HYDRE´LA(Ὕδρηλα), a town in Caria, said to have been founded by Hydrelus, one of three brothers who emigrated from Sparta. (Strab. 14. p. 650; Steph. B. s. v.;Liv. 37.56.) The Hydrelitae, no doubt the people of Hydrela (Plin. Nat. 5.29), belonged to the conventus of Cibyra.
