Melania

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

MELA´NIA(Μελανία), a place on the coast of Cilicia, a little to the west of Celenderis, perhaps on the site of the modern Kizliman. (Strab. 14. p. 670.) From another passage of Strabo (16. p. 760), compared with Stephanus B. (s. v. Μέλαιναι), it would seem that the place was also called Melaenae.
