Melotis

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

MELO´TIS a district of Triphylia in Epirus. (Liv. 32.13.) The names of Triphylia and Melotis, in connection with Epirus, occur only in Livy. Leake supposes that Melotis, which name indicates a sheep-feeding district, was probably the pastoral highlands around Ostanítza, on the borders of Molossis and Atintania.
