Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

PHUNDU´SI(Φουνδοῦσοι), a tribe mentioned by Ptolemy (Ptol. 2.11.12) as inhabiting the Chersonesus Cimbrica in the north of Germany, and dwelling north of the Cobandi and Chali. Zeuss ( Die Deutschen, p. 152), without satisfactory reasons, regards them as the same with the Sedusii mentioned by Caesar ( B. G. 1.31, 37, 51.)
