RE´GIA(Ῥηγία, Ptol. 2.2.10).
1. A place in the interior of Hibernia, no doubt so named by the Romans from its being a royal residence, the proper name of which was unknown to them. It was perhaps seated on the river Culmore, in the neighbourhood of Omagh.
2. (Ἑτέρα Πηγία,Ptol. l. c.), another place of the same description, conjectured to have been on the river Dur.
3. Regia Carissa. [CARISA] [T.H.D]
