Shaveh Kirjathaim

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

SHAVEH KIRJATHAIM(translated by the LXX. Σαυὴ ἡ πόλις), the original seat of that very ancient people the Emims, where they were smitten by Chedorlaomer, king of Elam. ( Gen. 14.5.) It no doubt passed with the other possessions of the Emims to the Moabites ( Deut. 2.9—11), and is probably identical with the Kiriathaim (LXX. Καριαθαὶμ) of Jeremiah (48.23) and Ezekiel (25.9).
