SOLEN(Σωλήν, Ptol. 7.1. § § 10, 34), a small river of S. India, which has its sources in M. Bettigo, and flows thence into the Sinus Colchicus or Gulf of Manaar. It is not certain which of two rivers, the Vaiparuor the Tamraparni, represent it at present: Lassen inclines to the latter.
