TROPAEA POMPEII(τὰ Πομπηΐου τρόπαια, or ἀναθήματα, Strab. 3. p. 160, 4. p. 178), a trophy or monument erected by Pompey on the summit of the Pyrenees, recording the subjugation of 876 Spanish cities. (Plin. Nat. 3.3. s. 4, 4.7. s. 27, 37.2. s. 6.) It stood at the spot named Summum Pyrenaeum in the Itin. Ant. (p. 397), and according to some on the boundary between Gaul and Spain.
