Amphissa, ae, f., = Ἄμφισσα.

II A promontory of Locri Epizephyrii , in Lower Italy; whence, Amphissi-us , a, um, adj., of Amphissa : Amphissia saxa, Ov. M. 15, 703 Riese, where Merkel reads Amphrisia , the designation of a place now unknown.
