Plisthĕnes, is, m., = Πλεισθένης.

I The son of Pelops , brother of Atreus and Thyestes , and the father of Agamemnon and Menelaus , who were brought up by his brother Atreus (whence they are called Atridae), Serv. Verg. A. 1, 458; acc. to others, the son of Atreus , Hyg. Fab. 86 and 97.—Hence,

1 Plisthĕnĭdes , ae, m., = Πλεισθενίδης, a male descendant of Plisthenes , a Plisthenide : felix Plisthenide, i. e. Menelaus , Sabin. Ep. 1, 107.—

2 Plisthĕ-nĭus , a, um, adj., of or belonging to Plisthenes , Plisthenian : Plisthenius torus, i. e. of Agamemnon , Ov. R. Am. 778.—
