I a people in Acarnania , noted for robbing travellers , Plaut. Am. prol. 101; 1, 1, 56; 1, 1, 95 al. A colony of them afterwards inhabited the island of Capreae: Teleboūm Capreas regna, Verg. A. 7, 735; Tac. A. 4, 67; Sil. 7, 418.
