to crop or clip close , to shave; hence, trop., to defraud , cheat , fleece one of his money (only in Plaut.): tu Persa's, qui me usque admutilavisti ad cutem, you have shorn me to the skin , Plaut. Pers. 5, 2, 48; id. Mil. 3, 1, 173; id. Capt. 2, 2, 19 (cf. the simple verb, Ter. Hec. 65).
