with soft kernels or seeds : fructus, Col. 5, 10, 15.— Subst.: ăpȳrēnum , i, n., a kind of pomegranate with soft kernels. Plin. 13, 19, 34, § 112; cf. id. 23, 6, 57, § 106; Sen. Ep. 85; Mart. 13, 43.
