that contributes nothing to an entertainment , scot-free (in pure Lat., immunis, Hor. C. 4, 12, 23): Tene asumbolum venire unctum atque lautum e balneis, Ter. Phorm. 339; cf. Gell. 6, 13 (opp.: sumbolam dare, Ter. And. 88).
