brasmătĭae (access. form bras-tae, App. de Mundo, p. 65, 25), ārum, f., = οἱ βρασματίαι (sc. ἄνεμοι) or βράσται,

a shaking of the earth , an earthquake : brasmatiae sunt (terrarum motus), qui terram molestius suscitantes sursum propellunt immanissimas moles, ut in Asiā Delos emersit, etc., Amm. 17, 7, 13.
