torture, torment, pain (very rare): vidi ego multa saepe picta quae Acherunti fierent Cruciamenta, Plaut. Capt. 5, 4, 2; id. As. 2, 2, 52: carnificum (with tormenta morborum), Cic. Phil. 11, 4, 8: ut orbitatis cruciamenta sentiret, Arn. 7, p. 43.
