I to despise, disdain (very rare): aliquem, Q. Pompeius ap. Prisc. p. 793 P.; Aur. Vict. Vir. Ill. 23.

II —Hence, dēspĭcā-tus , a, um, in a pass. sense, despised : vir me habet despicatam, Plaut. Cas. 2, 2, 15 and 19; cf. Ter. Eun. 383.—
