I Prop.: ferrum incude, Hor. C. 1, 35, 39.—

II Trop.: neque diffinget infectumque reddet, Quod fugiens semel hora vexit, to alter , Hor. C. 3, 29, 47 (but in id. S. 2, 1, 79 read diffindere).
