dissĭmŭlo, āvi, ātum, 1, v. a. [dissimilis],

I to feign that a thing is not that which it is; to dissemble , disguise; to hide , conceal , keep secret (cf.: fingo, simulo, confingo, comminiscor—very freq. and class.).
