to mourn for any one, to be in mourning for (rare): virum (mulier), Dig. 3, 2, 10; ib. 11: patriam, Cic. Fam. 9, 20 fin. —With cognate acc. : luctum, Gell. 7, 5, 4.— Absol. : quid, cum eluxerunt, sumunt? have completed their time of mourning , Liv. 34, 7, 10.
