a debarkation , landing; usu. with facere (repeatedly in Liv.; elsewh. rare; not in Cic. or Caes.): quinqueremibus septem profectus ad Erythras exscensionem fecit, Liv. 28, 8, 8; 8, 17, 9 Drak.; 21, 51, 5; 22, 20, 4 et saep.—In plur.: priusquam in continentem excensiones faceret, Liv. 22, 31, 2; 29, 28, 5.
