gutus (less correctly guttus), i, m. [gutta],

a narrow-necked vessel , flask , cruet , from which liquids (wine, oil, ointments, etc.) are poured by drops: qui vinum dabant, ut minutatim funderent, a guttis gutum appellarunt, Varr. L.
