a little moon , an ornament worn by women: aurea, Plaut. Ep. 5, 1, 33: lunulae sunt ornamenta mulierum in similitudinem lunae, bullulae aureae dependentes, Isid. Orig. 19, 31, 17; Tert. Cult.
