one who conducts the sacrifices , a sacrificer , sacrificing priest : sacrificuli ac vates ceperant hominum mentes, Liv. 25, 1; Suet. Dom. 1 (for which, sacricolae, Tac. H. 3, 74).—In apposition: rex, a high-priest , Liv. 2, 2, 1; cf. id. 6, 41, 9; v. rex, I.: vates, id. 35, 48 fin.
