to take upon the neck or shoulder , to shoulder (very rare): apes fessum (regem) sublevant, et si nequit volare, succollant, Varr. R. R. 3, 16, 8 (for which: attollunt umeris, Verg. G. 4, 217): vicissim succollantibus (lecticam), Suet. Claud. 10 med. : succollatus et a praesente comitatu imperator consalutatus, id. Oth. 6 med. ; Plin. 35, 10, 37, § 117.
