P. 4, 5, 42.— Absol. : mare velivolis florebat puppibus, i. e. with ships , Lucr. 5, 1442 (1440).—Transf., an epithet of the sea: maria alta velivola, Liv. And. ap. Macr. S. 6, 5: mare, Verg.
