II Transf., in gen., to have crawling , itching pains; to prick , shoot , ache , pain : auris, Mart. 14, 23, 1.— In the dep. form: si minus verminatur, Sen. Vit. Beat. 17, 4.—Of women in labor: decumo mense demum turgens verminatur, parturit, Pompon. ap. Non. 40, 21 (Com. Rel. p. 198 Rib.).
