First mention: L.C.C. List, 1901.

Formerly called : "Churchyard Court" (q.v.). "Pissing Alley" (O. and M. 1677).

It contains Goldsmith's grave, hence the name.

The present buildings were erected 1861 (Baylis, p. 2).
