Arosapes

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

AROSAPES(Plin. Nat. 6.23; Arusaces, Mela, 3.7), a river of Ariana, in the SE. part of Persia; conjectured by Forbiger ( Alt. Geogr. vol. 2. p. 537) to be the same as the modern Arghasan, one of the tributaries of the Helmend. From Mela it would seem to have been in the district of Pattalene.
