Prelius Lacus

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

PRE´LIUS LACUS a lake mentioned only by Cicero ( pro Mil. 27), and in a manner that affords no indication of its position. But it is probable that it is the same which is called Lacus Aprilis in the Itineraries, and apparently Prilis by Pliny [APRILIS LACUS], the modern Lago di Castiglione, on the coast of Etruria. (Cluver. Ital. p. 474.)
