I Peparethus (now Piperi ), a small island in the Aegean Sea , one of the Cyclades , famous for wine and oil , with a town of the same name , now Scopelo : ferax Peparethos olivae, Ov. M. 7, 470; cf. Liv. 28, 5, 10; 31, 28, 6.—Hence,

II Pĕpărēthĭus , a, um, adj., of or belonging to Peparethos , Peparethian : vinum, Plin. 14, 7, 9, § 76.
